A small scale usability test for the Leen Bakker webshop

Together with Remco Wolvenne I did another project with Leen Bakker for our web usability minor.
In this case we used observational software by Noldus Information Technology to monitor participants during their interactions with the website. Since Leen Bakker had created a new design, we build a php/html prototype to see whether the suspected improvements over the regular website were visible.

The findings supported the hypotheses that the new design was easier to use, this showed in completion rates, task completion times as well as the opinion of interviewed participants.
Also by using the Think-aloud protocol during the test we found that most of the interaction or features expected by the participant was based on earlier interaction with eCommerce systems.
